Tata Steel’s Q1 FY16 Key Production & Sales Figure

Tata Steel Limited registered Hot Metal and Crude Steel production of 2.59 million tonnes (up by 2.4% y-o-y) and 2.35 million tonnes (up by 0.5% y-o-y) respectively for Q1 FY 16. Saleable Steel production is 2.23 million tonnes and Sales increased by 2% y-o-y to 2.14 million tonnes.

Major Highlights – Q1 FY 16

  • Pellet Plant achieved its best ever Q-1 Production of 1.473 million tonnes (Previous best 1.405 million tonnes in Q1 FY 15).

  • LD#3 achieved its best ever Q-1 production of 0.605 million tonnes (Previous best 0.585 million tonnes in Q1 FY 15).

  • Merchant Mill achieved its best ever Q-1 production of 0.110 million tonnes (Previous best 0.107 million tonnes in Q1 FY 15).

  • New Bar Mill achieved its best ever Q-1 production of 0.230 million tonnes (Previous best 0.225 million tonnes in Q1 FY 15).






Other Highlights

  • Tata Steel has won the "Special Recognition Award" in the Manufacturing sector in India on 23rd April, which is an outcome of Randstand Award survey results, conducted to measure the most attractive employer from over 150 leading organizations in India across Industry sectors.

  • Tata Steel has been awarded with the ‘Top Indian Company in the Iron and Steel Sector’ in the 15th edition of ‘Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Corporate Awards 2015’ held in Mumbai on 13th May 2015.

  • Tata Steel was recognized by M/s. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) with the “Overall Excellence Award” for FY 15 in their Annual Vendor Meet for exhibiting 'above-target performance' in Quality, Cost, Delivery and Development.
